Three women k i l l e d in truck-pick up collision in Habiganj

3 women were killed in a collision between a truck and a pickup van on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bahubal, Habiganj. The deceased were going to visit the shrine in Sylhet.

The accident took place in Mouchak area of Bahubal upazila around 1 am on Friday.

The deceased are Manjila Begum (45), Tanjila Begum (35) and Shahinur Begum (45). All of them are residents of Gobindpur village of Hossainpur upazila of Kishoreganj.

Confirming the matter, Shaistaganj Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mainul Islam said, the pickup van was going from Kishoreganj to Sylhet with 15 passengers for the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA). 3 female passengers of the pickup van died on the spot when it collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound truck in Mouchak area. Besides, at least 10 people including children were injured. They have been taken to different hospitals.
