Three people, including the driver of a CNG-powered autorickshaw, were killed in a bus accident in Shaistaganj, Habiganj. The accident happened in front of Sudiakhla Primary School on Habiganj-Shaestaganj road around 6 am on Sunday.
The deceased are CNG driver Rafiq Mia (35), son of deceased Abdul Haque of Ubahata village of Chunarughat upazila, Raghu Chowdhury Para of Baniachong upazila. Azir Hossain's son Ziaul Haque (36) and son of Abdul Barik of Sharifpur village of Ajmiriganj upazila. Mucha Mia (64).
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shaistaganj Police Station Mohammad Nazmul Haque Kamal said, "An auto-rickshaw with two passengers left Shaistaganj for Habiganj." On the way, a Mordan Paribahan bus from Habiganj to Dhaka hit the auto-rickshaw when it reached in front of Sudiakhla Primary School. Three people, including the autorickshaw driver, died on the spot. At this time the bus also fell on the side of the road.
On receiving the information, Shaistaganj police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Habiganj Sadar Hospital morgue. OC said that the bus driver fled.
