17 thousand cases settled in Habiganj in one year
17 thousand 23 cases have been settled in Habiganj in one year. This is the highest in the last 14 years. Habiganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Md. Zakir Hossain gave this information on Monday (March 13).
According to the information given by him, 12 thousand 876 new cases were added in all magistrate courts last year i.e. 2022. The total number of cases stands at 28 thousand 987. Out of this 17 thousand 23 cases were settled and currently 11 thousand 964 cases are pending.
The case settlement rate in one year is 132.21 percent. In addition, 18 thousand 282 witnesses were accepted in 2022.
He also said, Chief Judicial Magistrate. After Haroon Or-Rashid joined Habiganj in June 2021, the backlog of 6,000 cases has been reduced.
Apart from this, Shaestaganj police station of the district has been selected for the best performance in terms of percentage in terms of presenting witnesses, settlement of process, warrant Tamil, report submission etc.
