Govt to buy boro paddy from farmers thru app in Sreemangal
Boro paddy-rice collection campaign-2023 has started at Srimangal in Moulvibazar. Food department will purchase 4 thousand 20 metric tons of rice and 850 metric tons of paddy in the current season.
On Wednesday (May 10) the internal borough collection campaign was inaugurated at the LSD office by the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on estimated accounts, former chief whip deputy. Md. Abdus Shaheed MP.
Upazila Executive Officer Ali Rajeev Mahmud Mithun presided over the opening ceremony as special guests, Upazila Chairman Bhanulal Roy, Upazila Awami League President Ardhendu Kumar Deb Bebul, Upazila Awami Fishermen League President Ashikur Rahman, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Mohiuddin, Srimangal police station officer-in-charge Jahangir Hossain Sardar, upazila food controller Deepak Chandra Mondal and others.
In the current season, paddy and rice are being collected directly from the farmers through digital method. Srimangal Upazila Food Control Office said that 4 thousand 20 metric tons of rice will be collected from the local Rushni Auto Rice Mill and 850 metric tons of paddy directly from the farmers this season.
This is the first time farmers are getting an opportunity to sell their crops through apps only without any hassle. For this a service corner has been introduced in the warehouse area.
