8 individuals, institutions received the `National Tea Award`
8 individuals and institutions have received the 'National Tea Award' which was launched for the first time in the country. On Sunday (June 4) the awards were presented at the BTRI High School ground in Moulvibazar. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi was the chief guest.
The special guest was the President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Estimated Accounts and the former Deputy Chief Whip. Md. Abdus Shaheed MP. Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce presided over the event.
Bangladesh Tea Board Chairman Major General Md. Ashraful Islam NDC, PSC delivered the welcome speech.
In addition, the president of the Bangladesh Tea Association, Kamran T. Rahman, the president of the Tea Traders Association of Bangladesh, Shah Moinuddin Hasan and the president of FBCCI, Md. Jasim Uddin gave a welcome speech.

They are: (1) The highest producing tea garden per acre - Khareura tea garden (2) The highest quality tea producing garden - Madhupur tea garden (3) The best tea exporter - Abul Khair Consumer Products Ltd. (4) The best small scale tea producer-Md. Anwar Sadat Samrat (Panchgarh) (5) Best Tea Garden based on Worker Welfare – Zerin Tea Garden (6) Best Organization/Company based on Marketing Variety of Tea Products – Kazi & Kazi Tea Estate Ltd: (7) Best Tea based on Visual and Quality Tea Packaging Institution/Company-Green Field Tea Industries Ltd: (8) Best Tea Pickers (Tea Workers) – Upalakshi Tripura, Neptune Tea Garden.
