Case against UNO in Jagannathpur
In Jagannathpur of Sunamganj, a case has been filed against 13 people including Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sajedul Islam for helping squatters without recovering government land.
A lawyer named Muhitur Rahman Talukder filed the case in Sunamganj Senior Special Judge and Sessions Judge court on Monday. The court accepted the case and asked the Sylhet Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate and submit a report.
It is known that six of the defendants in the case are government officials. Apart from UNO Sajedul Islam, the others are former Upazila Executive Officer Mahfuzul Alam Masum, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Yasir Arafat, former Surveyor Abdul Monayem Khan, current Surveyor Muhibur Rahman and Union Land Sub-Assistant Officer Nazmul Huda Khan.
