Mayor Arif admitted to hospital in critical condition
Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury is seriously ill. He was admitted to the hospital late at night. He has been kept under close observation there.
Chief Health Officer of Sylhet City Corporation (CCIC) Dr. Jahidul Islam Sumon said that Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury fell ill suddenly last night. Then he was admitted to the hospital around 3 pm.
He said that the mayor is currently admitted to Mount Edora Hospital in the city. He has heart problem.
Health officer Dr. Zahid said, "The doctors are looking at the reports of various tests of the mayor. The doctors will decide whether he will be kept in Sylhet or taken to Dhaka for better treatment.
Meanwhile, the mayor's family has asked for prayers for the mayor's recovery.
