Formation of the new leadership of Samilitta Natya Parishad
One of the driving forces of Sylhet's cultural movement, the election of Samilit Natya Parishad Sylhet has been held. On Wednesday (March 15) from 5 pm to 7 pm, polling was held non-stop at the Sardahl office.
Rajat Kanti Gupta was elected president and Mostak Ahmed general secretary after the counting of votes in the elections held for the biennial period of 1430 and 1431 Bengali.
5 representatives of the member organizations included in the bi-annual election council of the Combined Theater Council Sylhet voted. Also, joint general secretary Ekhlach Ahmed Tanmoy, executive members Tanmoy Nath Tanu, Abdul Basit Sadaf, Rezaul Karim Rabbi were elected.
Supriya Dev Shanto was elected unopposed as Vice President, Achint Kumar De Amit as Finance Secretary and Dibakar Sarkar Shekhar as Publicity and Department Secretary. The election was conducted by the chief director of policy making council Arindam Dutta Chandan, directors Anup Kumar Dev and Ardhendu Kumar Das.
At nine o'clock in the night, the chief director announced the election results. Voting took place amid great enthusiasm. Around the election, the historic Sarada Hall premises became a meeting place for theatrical and cultural workers of Sylhet.
