14 dengue patients die; 2653 hospitalized in 24 hours
Fourteen dengue patients died and 2,653 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Tuesday 8 am to Wednesday 8 am). With the latest death, a total of 215 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.
Currently, 8,189 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. Of them, 4,760 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 3,429 are in other divisions.
As many as 40,341 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. Some 31,937 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
