90 BNP men detained in Dhaka: DMP
Ninety leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) were detained in connection with clashes with police in different parts of the capital on Saturday.
Md Faruk Hossain, Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) told journalists at his office at 3:40pm.
A total of 20 police members including Joint Commissioner (traffic south) of DMP Mehedi were injured in the clashes. Regular cases will be filed with the concerned police stations in this regard, he said.
Faruk Hossain said BNP didn’t submit any application to DMP Police Commissioner for their today’s programme. Holding sit-in programme was unlawful as they was not allowed to do it.
He also said, BNP men vandalized 8-10 vehicles of police and set around 20 public transports on fire.
