Heavy rainfall likely in some areas
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday forecast heavy to very heavy rainfalls in some parts of Bangladesh.
The weather forecast issued in the morning will be effective for 24 hours from 9am.
Light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Bangladesh, said the met office release.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
The highest rainfall was recorded at 144mm in Bandarban in the last 24 hours.
