Prime Minister sought international recognition of Genocide Day

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought international recognition of March 25 National Genocide Day. He demanded this recognition in the welcome speech of the Awami League member nomination board meeting today (March 25). The meeting of the nomination board is being held at Ganabhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister.

In the meeting, Sheikh Hasina said that out of seven and a half million people, 30 million people are homeless, 10 million people have taken refuge in India as refugees. Dead bodies were lying on the streets, the bodies were eaten by foxes and dogs, people saw it, the girls were captured in the camp and brutally tortured. So we want March 25th National Genocide Day to be recognized internationally.

He also said that this war-torn country was built by the father of the nation, we were also recognized as a less developed country. He was in power for only three years and seven months and three days.

The head of the government said that our misfortune was on August 15, 1975, when the father of the nation was brutally killed. After August 15, four national leaders were killed in Dhaka Central Jail after the Father of the Nation on November 3. I will only say that the blood of martyrs is not in vain. The freedom we got in exchange for the blood of lakhs of martyrs. Today we have got the status of developing country. We want to make Bangladesh a developed and prosperous country. This is our pledge to the martyrs, to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu.
