Fire in Bongo Bazar: Mamun lost everything
The fire in Bangabazar Market of the capital has caused huge losses to traders. Many businessmen have lost their last income and become destitute. One of them. Mamun. He had 5 shops in the burnt market. Mamun claimed that all the shops were burnt in the fire and the loss was around Tk 10 crore.
At around 12 o'clock on Tuesday, sitting on the footpath next to Bangabazar, Mamun told Dhaka Post in a tearful voice, "I have 5 shops in the market. These shops had sarees, lungis, shirts, pants and genjis. Ahead of Eid, I took a loan from my relatives and the bank and bought goods worth 10 crore rupees. Goods worth crores of rupees have also been sold in the last few days. And after the fire, I was able to get out goods worth several lakhs of rupees. The rest of the goods were burnt. I have no other way but to lose everything.
He complained and said that the people of the fire service were somewhat negligent in controlling the fire. They are not working properly. If they had worked properly to control the fire, our loss would have been less.
Businessman Mamun said, I have told those from whom I bought goods on loan, I will pay all the money before Eid. Now everything is burnt down. How to pay the loan? How to run a family?
