Rain likely in three divisions
Some districts of Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chittagong divisions are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall.
Mustafa Kamal Palash, a PhD researcher on meteorology and climate at the University of Saskatchewan, said this information in a post on Facebook on Monday (April 17).
He writes, you may remember that I had predicted on April 14 that 'on April 17 and 18, there is a possibility of very light rain with weak Kalboishakhi storm in some districts of Barisal, Chittagong, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.'
Analysis of images received from Japan's artificial geosatellite at 9 am today shows that between 10 am and 3 pm there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in some districts of Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chittagong divisions. Especially in Netrokona, Mymensingh, Kishoreganj, Sunamganj, Sylhet, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Habiganj and Brahmanbaria districts, the probability of rainfall is highest.
However, referring to the continuation of the heat wave in some districts, he wrote, there is a strong possibility that the heat wave condition of most districts of Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur, Barisal and Dhaka division will remain unchanged. There is a strong possibility that the temperature in Dhaka will be 39 to 40 degrees Celsius today.
Today, the effects of heat are likely to be more in the districts of Dhaka, Chittagong and Barisal divisions. Because by analyzing the images obtained from the artificial geosatellite, it appears that the hot and steamy air from the Bay of Bengal is moving over the districts of Barisal, Dhaka and Chittagong divisions towards the districts of Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. As a result, the sweat from the human body today will not dry less than yesterday, he wrote.
