Holy Shab-e-Qadr tonight

Holy Lailatul Qadr or Shab Qadr is Tuesday. Like the devout Muslims of different countries of the world, the Muslims of Bangladesh will spend the night through Nafal Ibadat, Quran recitation and Zikir-Ashkar in the hope of forgiveness of sins and reward.

The twenty-seventh night before today is one of the five odd nights that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) mentioned as possible for finding Lailatul Qadr. Believers will spend the whole night in worship. The believers who observe the fast will pray for forgiveness in the court of the great Lord Almighty with tears in their eyes.

The word Shabe Qadr is Persian. Shab means night or rajni and Qadr means majesty, honor, dignity, quality, potential, fortune etc. Shab Qadr means night of honor or fortune. The Arabic for Shabbat Qadr is Lailatul Qadr, the night of honor. that night

The night the Qur'an was revealed is called Lailatul Qadr.

Allah Himself has mentioned in Al-Qur'an about the dignity and significance of this night - Verily I have revealed this Qur'an on Lailatul Qadr. Do you know (O Muhammad (pbuh)! What is Lailatul Qadr? Lailatul Qadr is better than a thousand months. On this night the angels and the soul descend on the command of their Lord. Absolute peace reigns until sunrise (Surah Qadr). Hazrat Anas (R.A.) ) is narrated from - Rasulullah (s.a.w.) said, "This night of Qadr has been given only to my ummah. One of the best of all the blessings and mercies that Allah has bestowed upon mankind is to bestow such a blessed night upon His servants."
