The bridge minister said that this instruction has been given on an experimental basis. Under no circumstances can motorcycles come onto the main bridge outside the service lane. Toll shall be paid at the prescribed rate. If the rules are not followed then the decision will be revoked.

The secretary of bridge department. Manjur Hossain confirmed this information and said that motorcycle movement has been allowed on Padma Bridge from 6 am on April 20. We allow for temporary period. This will continue until further instructions. If bikers do not obey the law, this directive will be revoked.

The day after the inauguration of the Padma Bridge on June 25 last year, the traffic on the bridge started. At least 45 thousand vehicles crossed on the first day. Among them, there were 27,000 motorcycles. Two youths were killed in a motorcycle accident on the bridge that night. After that, the bridge authority stopped the movement of motorcycles on the high level decision of the government.
