Bangladeshi woman arrested in india for trying to smuggle gold!
The Indian Border Guard Force (BSF) arrested a Bangladeshi woman from North 24 Parganas of West Bengal, India last Thursday (April 27).
It is said that the woman tried to smuggle 27 gold bars weighing 2 kg from Bangladesh to India. He was arrested at that time.
According to BSF, the value of the gold bars seized from the Bangladeshi women is 1 crore 29 lakh rupees. Which is equal to about 1 crore 70 lakh rupees compared to the money of Bangladesh.
The woman tried to smuggle these gold bars worth more than 1.5 crore rupees for only 2 thousand 500 rupees.
Indian media NDTV reported that the arrested woman's name is Manika Dhar. He is 34 years old. He is a resident of Chittagong.
The woman tried to cross the border with 27 gold bars of different sizes tied around her waist and clothes. The BSF already had information about the gold smuggling issue. After entering India, BSF women personnel searched the body of Bangladeshi woman Manika and recovered it from her.
According to NDTV news, the woman said during interrogation that this is the first time she was involved in risky activities like gold smuggling. He was told that he would be paid 2,000 rupees (Tk 2,500) if he could hand over the gold to a person in India.
After the arrest, the woman was handed over to the customs officials of Petropol. Further legal action will be taken against him.
