Flight operations at Chittagong airport to resume todays
Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport authority has decided to resume its flight operations from Monday morning as Cyclone Mocha weakens into a deep land depression near Sittwe in Myanmar.
Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport Group Captain Manager Taslim Ahmed said: "Our operations will begin after the emergency signal is lifted. The flight will take off at 6am on Monday."
Flight operations at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong and Cox's Bazar Airport were halted from 6am Saturday as very severe cyclonic storm Mocha loomed over the Bangladesh coast. The decision was taken as the meteorological department advised the maritime ports of Cox's Bazar and Chittagong to keep hoisted great danger signal 8.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) announced the closure of Cox's Bazar Airport from Saturday 7am.
