A record price of gold in the country, about 1 lakh taka!

The price of gold in the country's market has increased to a record amount. The new price of gold per load stands at 98 thousand 794 taka. This is the highest price of gold in the history of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has decided the new price today.

 This information was informed in a press release signed by MA Hannan Azad, Chairman of Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee yesterday, Saturday (March 18).

The notification informed that the new price will be implemented from Sunday (March 19).

According to the new price, it will cost 98 thousand 794 taka to buy 22 carat gold from Sunday. Besides, 21 carat 94 thousand 303 taka, 18 carat 80 thousand 832 taka and traditional gold will be sold at 67 thousand 301 taka.

Earlier, BAJUS fixed the last gold price on February 26, which became effective the next day on February 27. According to that price, till Saturday (March 18), 22 carats were sold for Tk 91 thousand 96. Accordingly, the price of gold has increased by more than seven and a half thousand rupees today.

As of December 29 last year, the price of gold (22 carat) was 87 thousand 247 taka. That day 1 thousand 166 taka increased to 88 thousand 413 taka. Then on January 7, 2 thousand 333 taka increased to 90 thousand 746 taka and on January 14, 2 thousand 683 taka increased to a record 93 thousand 429 taka. Although the price of gold decreased slightly in February, it remained at 90,000.

Today, the price of gold rose by 7 thousand 698 taka to 98 thousand 794 taka. This is the largest single price increase in the history of gold in Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, although the price of gold has been reduced, the price of silver has been kept unchanged today. Category-wise, the price of 22 carat silver has been fixed at Tk 1,715 per load. The price of 21 carat is Tk 1,633, 18 carat is Tk 1,400 and the price of traditional silver remains unchanged at Tk 1,050.
