Government employees to get 5pc incentive: Sheikh Hasina

Government employees would now get 5 percent of their basic as special incentive.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today gave the instruction to Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal at the parliament to take action in this regard, while speaking on the proposed budget for 2023-24.

Hasina said, "I request the finance minister to consider paying 5 percent of the basic salary as a special salary to the government employees during this emergency. I hope the finance minister will accept this matter. We will give them 5 percent of the basic salary as a special incentive."

In her speech, the PM also highlighted the various steps taken by the government to control the inflation and developing the country's economy.
