24 thousand 158 Hajj pilgrims return to Dhaka

24 thousand 158 pilgrims returned home after Hajj from Saudi Arabia. Out of total 64 flights of three airlines, 22 flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 27 flights operated by Saudia Airlines and 15 flights operated by Flynas.

This information was reported on the Hajj portal on Friday night with reference to Hajj Office, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, Airlines carrying Hajj pilgrims.

After performing the holy Hajj, Biman Bangladesh Airlines is distributing Zamzam water to the pilgrims who came to the country through Biman, Flynas and Saudia Airlines.

According to the instructions of the Saudi authorities, the pilgrims cannot personally transport Zamzam water with them. It will be transported and distributed by the airlines.

According to the rules, five liters of Zamzam water is being provided to each Haji, according to Biman.

This year a total of 1 lakh 22 thousand 884 people from Bangladesh went to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. A total of 325 flights were operated to carry these pilgrims. Among them, Biman Bangladesh Airlines carried 61 thousand 180 pilgrims in 159 flights, Saudi Airlines carried 41 thousand 468 pilgrims in 113 flights and Flynas Airlines carried 20 thousand 236 pilgrims in 53 flights. The last return flight is scheduled to take place on August 2.

Meanwhile, a total of 90 Hajj pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia so far. Among them 69 men, 21 women. 74 died in Makkah, 5 in Madinah, 7 in Mina, 1 in Jeddah, 2 in Arafa and 1 in Muzdalifah.
