AL pays respect to Bangamata on his 93rd birth anniversary
Awami League has paid tribute to the 93rd birth anniversary of Bangmata Begum Fazilatun Nescha Mujib, consort of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, mother of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, behind-the-scenes motivation behind the Bengali freedom struggle-struggle-movement.
On Tuesday (August 8) at 8 am in the capital's Banani, Awami League leaders led by the party's General Secretary, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader paid tribute by laying flowers at Bangmata's tomb. Central leaders were present at the time.
Later prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of Bangamata.
Bangamata Begum Fazilatun Nesha Mujib was born on August 8, 1930 in Tungipara of Gopalganj in a noble Muslim family. On the night of August 15, 1975, along with her husband, son and daughter-in-law, she was brutally martyred by the anti-independence gang at her residence in Dhanmondi.
