Met office predicts heavy rain in northern part of country today
The sky of Dhaka was cloudy yesterday Monday. It rained intermittently throughout the day. There is a possibility of rain in Dhaka and its surrounding areas today as well. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the northern part of the country today.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department at 7 am this morning, there may be light to moderate rain in Dhaka and surrounding areas in the next six hours. There is also a risk of lightning. Apart from this, winds can blow at a speed of 10-15 km per hour from the south and southwest direction. The Meteorological Department has also said that gusty winds may increase to 30 to 40 km per hour.
The Meteorological Department says that 54 mm of rain has fallen in Dhaka in the last 24 hours. At 6 am today, the temperature in the capital was 26.5 degrees Celsius. Humidity was 97 percent. Daytime temperatures may remain unchanged today.
There is a possibility of rain across the country today. But as it rained more in the southern region yesterday, it may rain more in the northern region today. In particular, the districts of Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions are likely to receive heavy rainfall.
Earlier yesterday's forecast had said that eight divisions of the country are likely to experience light to moderate rain and thundershowers with gusty winds. Apart from this, there may be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country.
