BNP begins mass processions in city
A large numbers of leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) joined the party's mass processions in the city demanding their one-point demand for hold the next general election under non-party caretaker government.
BNP's Dhaka south city unit brought out a procession from Doyaganj after a brief rally around 3pm. The procession will end Khilgaon Chawrasta. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will attend the programme.
Besides, Dhaka north city unit of BNP took out a procession from near DCC market, Gulshan-2 at the same time. Party standing committee member Mirza Abbas will lead the procession.
Meanwhile, members of law enforcement agencies have been deployed at the key points of the city to thwart any untoward situation.
Apart from BNP, other opposition parties Ganotantra Mancha, Jatiyatabadi Samamona Jote, LDP, Gonoforum and People’s Party, Peshajibi Ganatantrik Jote, Ganatantrik Bam Oikya,12-party alliance, Labour Party, NDM, Bangladesh Sadaran Chhatra Odhikar Sanrakshan Parishad and two factions of Gono Odhikar Parishad will also observe similar the programmes separately in all metropolitan cities, including in the capital.
Meanwhile, BNP and the like-minded parties on July 12 announced their one-point movement to realize their demands.
