Dengue: 10 d i e, 2134 hospitalised in 24 hours
Ten more people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours in the country. At the same time, 2,134 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country. With this, the number of dengue deaths this year rose to 476.
This was informed in the dengue report signed by Zahidul Islam, in charge of the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
According to the circular, 6 of the dead are from Dhaka and 4 are from outside Dhaka.
It is also said that 2, 134 patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country with dengue fever from 8 am on Saturday to 8 am on Sunday. Of the new patients, 785 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and 1,349 others outside the capital.
Out of 476 deaths this year, 357 are from Dhaka and 119 from outside Dhaka. At present, a total of 7,582 dengue patients are under going treatment at different public and private hospitals all over the country. There are currently 3,532 dengue patients admitted in public and private hospitals in Dhaka while 4,050 others outside it.
So far, the DGHS has recorded 99,994 dengue cases and 91, 936 recoveries this year.
