Dengue: 9 d e a d, 1,960 hospitalised in 24 hours
At least 9 dengue patients died while 1,960 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (August 26), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the 24 hours, 833 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,127 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.
Besides, this year a total 537 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.
According to DGHS, this year till today 3,846 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,390 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
A total of 1, 12,184 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 53,489 were in Dhaka and 58,695 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.
As many as 1, 03,411 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 49,247 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 54,164 others left hospitals outside the capital.
Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year.
