Kazi Shahed Ahmed no more
Kazi Shahed Ahmed, founder chairman of Gemcon Group and a sports organiser, has passed away. He breathed his last at 7:15pm on Monday.
Born in 1940 in Jessore, his legacy is etched in his multifaceted contributions to various fields. As the founder and chairman of the Gemcon Group, Kazi Shahid Ahmed left an indelible mark on the business landscape.
He was also the driving force behind the esteemed dailies Khoborer Kagoj and Ajker Kagoj. Notably, Ajker Kagoj ushered in a new era of modernity in Bangladeshi newspapers.
He founded the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and the Kazi Shahid Foundation.
Deepto TV and Dhaka Tribune are owned and operated by Kazi Media Limited, a subsidiary of his Kazi Farms Group.
