Seven dengue patients die, 2,367 hospitalised in a day
Seven more dengue patients died across the country in 24 hours till Wednesday morning, raising the fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 576 this year.
Among the casualties, five deaths reported in Dhaka and two outside the city.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), during the period, 2,367 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever. Of the new patients, 899 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and the rest of them outside it.
Currently, 8,446 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. Of them, 3,908 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,538 are in other divisions.
So far, the DGHS has recorded 1,21,500 dengue cases, 1,12,478 recoveries. The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 .
