Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov to arrive in Dhaka today

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov is arriving in Bangladesh this afternoon for less than 24 hours. After the ASEAN Summit, Lavrov will arrive in Dhaka from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

He will hold a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen at a hotel in the capital in the evening. Lavrov will have a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Ganabhaban before leaving Dhaka for Delhi tomorrow Friday afternoon.

According to the sources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov will discuss various issues of bilateral relations including political, economic, defense, trade and investment, and technical cooperation during his visit to Dhaka.

Ruppur nuclear power plant, the Russia-Ukraine war situation, and its impact, and the Rohingya issue will be important in the discussion between the two sides.
