I have received a lot of support from journalists in my 64 years
The President mentioned that he always had a good relationship with the journalists. Abdul Hamid said, I tried to do politics with honesty in my long political life and got a lot of support from journalists.
He said this while commemorating the dinner organized in honor of prominent journalists at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban yesterday Sunday (March 12) evening.
The head of state said, "I have done politics with honesty all my life, I have not received anything negative from the journalists in my 64 years of life, I am grateful to the news workers."
He said, we have been able to bring some change in Haor area. No government wanted anything for the individual. If every politician has this mindset, then the area will definitely develop.
During the speech, the President reminisced about his illustrious political career and also talked about his retirement for a second term.
"And after 42 days I will return to the crowd," said the President very emotionally. I feel good that I was able to leave with honor. I am grateful to everyone.”
Regarding his relationship with journalists, the President said, "I have always had a good relationship with journalists. I had a very cordial relationship with you especially when I was the Deputy Speaker and till I finally took over as the Speaker.'
This is the last dinner with journalists at President Abdul Hamid's Bangabhaban. Because next April 24 at 11 am as the new president. Sahabuddin is about to take oath.
And the President arrived at the venue of the Durbar Hall at 7:30 in the evening. After the arrival of the President, the whole Durbar hall became lively. Meanwhile, the journalist-friendly president went around and exchanged pleasantries with everyone. He enlivened the Durbar Hall with his traditional oratorical magic. He also took pictures. Following the protocol, the president went to all the junior-senior journalists and shook hands. When journalists wanted to take pictures, Abdul Hamid gave them the opportunity with a smile. In his speech, the President also invited journalists to Haor area and his residence in Nikunj, Dhaka.

Bangladesh News Agency Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief Abul Kalam Azad, UNB Editor Farid Hossain, Bangla Journal Editor Shahjahan Sardar, BFU President Omar Farooq, BFU Secretary General Deep Azad, Dhaka Journalists Union (DEU) among others participated in the dinner. Its president Sohel Haider Chowdhury, general secretary of DUZ Aktar Hossain and others.
