Bongo Bazar fire : Annexco tower is still draining water
Even though 24 hours have passed since the fire in Bongo Bazar, the fire service continues to remove water from the 5th and upper floors of Annexco Tower. Although the fire was officially reported yesterday (Tuesday). However, fire service personnel say that since there is a cloth godown inside, water is being sprinkled after seeing smoke coming out from there.
On Wednesday (April 5) in front of Bongo Bazar Enexco Tower, it was seen that water is being drained by two separate fire service vehicles on the 5th floor of the eastern side and the 4th floor of the southwest corner.
Habibur Rahman, an employee of Imran Garments of Annexco Tower, said that there is only a clothes shop above. There was continuous smoke coming out as there was a cloth godown. Besides, the fire service is spraying the water to reduce the damage to the remaining goods. And in the meantime people from shops like ours are trying to get the goods out.
On the other hand, the fire service claims that water is being drained all the time so that the fire cannot spread further.
Incidentally, the fire service received information about the fire in Bangabazar at 6:10 am on Tuesday. They reached the spot in no time. After about 6 and a half hours, the fire was brought under control with the efforts of 50 units of the fire service.
