I will help victims of Bongo Bazar : Prime Minister
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina assured the businessmen who were affected by the terrible fire in the capital's Bongo Bazar and said, "The suffering and tears of the victims of such an accident before Eid cannot be tolerated. In the meantime, I have said that I will help them as much as I can and see who has been harmed.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader handed over the check for payment of the two installments of Padma Bridge government loan to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday (April 5) at Ganobhaban. At that time, the Prime Minister said this.
A check of Tk 316 crore 90 lakh 97 thousand 49 was officially handed over to the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister said, 'There was a fire in Bongo Bazar Market once in 1995. Then there was a fire again in 2018. Then we undertake well-planned marketing projects here. Then several people interrupted. Not only a barrier, but also a writ. Later the High Court suspended it.
He said, "If it had not been suspended at that time, then we could have created a good market here." Then such a terrible accident would not have happened today.
Sheikh Hasina said about the attackers at the fire service headquarters while putting out the fire in Bangabazar, "I will say that the behavior of some people in the country has angered me. Whenever there is a fire, fire service personnel go there to douse the fire. Army, Navy, Air Force, Ansar forces, volunteers have been working with it since morning. There is no word, no message, after noon a group of people entered the fire service office with sticks and started vandalism.
At that time, the Prime Minister issued a warning and said, "Those who attacked and vandalized there will be identified and action will be taken."
According to the agreement signed between the Finance Department and Bangladesh Bridge Authority for the construction of Padma Bridge, the first and second installments of the loan taken have been repaid.
Various officials of the government along with other members of the cabinet were also present in the ceremony of handing over the first check for payment of government debt of Padma Bridge.
