Bongo Bazar barricade and attack: 300 accused in the case
A case has been filed against 250 to 300 unidentified people for attacking and obstructing the police during the Bongo Bazar fire.
On Thursday (April 6), the police filed the case as the plaintiff at Bangshal police station in the capital.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Lalbagh Division of DMP Zafar Hossain said that after the fire in Bangbazar, the fire service headquarters and members were attacked during fire fighting. When the police tried to stop them, they were attacked. A case has been filed accusing 250-300 unidentified people of assaulting the police and obstructing government work on the day of the fire.
DC Zafar Hossain also said that legal action will be taken after identifying those involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, separate cases are expected to be filed by the fire service in connection with obstruction of work, assault on members and vandalism at the headquarters during the fire. Besides, a general diary (GD) has also been made by the police at Shahbagh police station.
