Bangladesh National Parliament completes 50 years
Bangladesh National Parliament completed fifty years today (April 7). After independence, the journey of Bangladesh National Parliament started on April 7, 1973 under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The Father of the Nation was the Leader of the First Parliament.
The first session of the Jatiya Sangsad began at the then Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan in Tejgaon, Dhaka. Accordingly, the Bangladesh National Parliament has completed half a century today.
On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the National Parliament, the President. The special session started yesterday on the call of Abdul Hamid.
The special session is the 22nd session of the current 11th Parliament and the second session of the current year. Before this, the first and 21st session of this year started on January 5 and ended on February 9. The total working days in that session were 26. Where 19 bills are raised. Among them, 10 bills were passed. An ordinance was also raised.
President Md. Abdul Hamid will address the special session today. In the special session, various historical achievements from the journey of the Bangladesh National Parliament to the present will be highlighted. Historical speeches of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be aired. Members of Parliament will discuss the Golden Jubilee of Parliament in a special session.
