BNP is never ready to see themselves in the mirror of the people

General Secretary of Awami League and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the BNP leaders are constantly making provocative statements without getting the response of the people in the movement. He is habitually lying to achieve nefarious political ends. BNP is never ready to see itself in the mirror of the people. That is why they are always afraid to participate in elections in the democratic way of checking public opinion. They are involved in conspiracies to destroy fair and peaceful environment due to election panic.

He said this in a statement signed by Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua today (March 14). In Obaidul Quader's statement, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam condemned and protested the politically motivated and provocative speech.

Awami League General Secretary said that the military dictator Ziaur Rahman had seized power unconstitutionally and illegally and sent the democracy of this country into exile. Ziaur Rahman gave the nation the gift of curfew marca democracy and organized yes/no vote in 1977, presidential election in 1978 and parliamentary election in 1979 while maintaining martial law. Zia's wife Begum Khaleda Zia followed in his footsteps. As a result, Khaleda Zia held a farce election on February 15, 1996 with the intention of axing state power; The great National Assembly was tarnished by putting Bangabandhu's self-confessed murderer in the seat of the Leader of the Opposition.

He also said that again in the face of mass agitation, BNP was forced to stop their one-sided elections in 2007 under the 'General Clauses Act-1897' law. Mirza Fakhrul now says that Awami League will not get more than 30 seats. Their leader Begum Khaleda Zia said, Awami League will not be able to come to power even in 100 years. But then in the national elections held in 2008, BNPE got only 29 seats. The issue of confiscation of collateral is appropriate for such a politically bankrupt BNP. Participating in future elections will tell who will have bail and who will not. BNP will be called upon to participate in the elections to demonstrate their capabilities.

Quader said, Bangladesh Awami League has traditionally held non-communal policy and cherished it through the historical struggle. Non-communal state and social system is one of the pledges of our great liberation war. Bangladesh Awami League is always committed to building a non-communal state. Bangladesh Awami League is the political power identified as the opposition to communal politics in this country. Which was initiated by the military dictatorship of Ziaur Rahman. BNPE is the main sponsor of communal evil in this country. In its continuity, we have seen that BNP and its allies have always been perpetrating torture on minorities in a well-planned manner. They are engaged in the mischief of making Bangladesh uninhabitable for minorities and dissidents. After the 2001 elections, the BNP terror forces carried out unspeakable and barbaric torture on the Hindu community.

The Bridge Minister said that the report of the Judicial Inquiry Commission on the post-election violence of 2001 clearly revealed the details of this terror. It shows that 27 MPs, ministers and top leaders of BNP were involved in this terror. This terror was carried out indiscriminately on the Hindu community; Where the BNP terrorists raped the daughter in front of the mother. During the BNP-Jamaat regime, the entire Hindu community in Bangladesh went through a terrible time. BNP has chosen the path of communalism from its anti-Awami League ideology and to undermine the non-communal spirit and democratic values of Bangladesh. Past history testifies, BNP always starts divisive politics by destroying communal harmony before elections. BNP will not be allowed to play this game of division in politics. Bangladesh Awami League will deal with it unitedly with all the non-communal forces.
