Talking to the traders, it is known that since Friday was a holiday and Paila Baishak, the traders had good business. All the shops were open till almost midnight. By late night, most of the traders have closed their shops and gone back home. And received the news of fire in the morning. No one took money home at night. Most traders had a good amount of money left in their cash.
A businessman named Sajib Mia said, I sold the country's land and bought the shop six months ago. Now I sit on the way. Yesterday I picked up 2 lakhs worth of goods. Today, after the fire, I couldn't rab a single item. I have nothing, it's all over.
He also said, yesterday was Friday, there were many customers. We worked till three in the night, cleaning the shop. There were no customers, then there was no one. How did the store fire in this situation?
Businessmen say that due to Corona and war, there was no business in the last few years, but this year, the businessmen got the opportunity to make up for the loss during Eid. Business was also going well. Most of the traders have lakhs of rupees in their cash. And there are goods worth a lot of money.
A crying businessman said, brother, I closed the shop around 3 pm and went home. And at 6 in the morning I got the news of the fire. I had a lot of money in my cash. Bro, I'm done. I have no more assets left.
Another businessman says, I came down the road with my family after a few hours. How to run a family with wife and children? And how to pay the creditor?
It can be seen on the ground that the Dhaka New Super Market (D:) building is on fire. Produced heavy smoke. Meanwhile, traders are entering the market to take out goods.
A shopkeeper named Eamon said that their underwear shop is on the second floor of the market. The employees of the store along with him risked their lives to bring out the goods. It has not been possible to bring all the goods yet.
Eyewitness Eamon said, there is a lot of fire inside, most of the shops in the market will be burnt. I have only been able to take out the goods of the shops on the ground floor and near the stairs of the first and second floors. There is no opportunity to take out the goods of the rest of the shops.
Another shopkeeper named Liton said that the traders have been attacked. What do we do? where to go How to do business? How will our stomach run? Everything ends in fire.
