Forest guards recovered a Maya deer with its legs tied from a house in Fatabil village of Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj. After being rescued on Monday morning, the deer was released in the forest around noon.

Forest workers said that Rema-Kalenga sanctuary of Chunarughat upazila is one of the forest areas of the country. Several deer live here. Some people of Fatabil village saw a deer inside the Rema tea garden of the upazila this morning. Later they captured the deer to get a trap. The deer collided with a tree while running away from the hunters. Part of the deer's throat was cut and blood came out.

A person from the area saw this scene. He immediately called the people of the forest department about the matter. On receiving the information, the forest department personnel went to Fadabil village and found that the poachers had tied the legs of the deer with a rope and locked it in a house. Later they rescued the deer.
