7 students of SUST get Prime Minister Gold Medal

Seven students from seven faculties of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology are getting 'Prime Minister's Gold Medal-2019' for the highest graduation results. The University Grants Commission (UGC) awards this medal every year for meritorious results in the university.

The list of students nominated for the medal was published on the UGC website on Monday. UGC authorities have nominated 178 students from different faculties of 36 universities for the Prime Minister Gold Medal this year.

Shahjalal University students nominated for Gold Medal are - Pramod Chandra Baidya (3.92) of Physics Department of Physical Science Faculty, Nusrat Jahan Tisha (3.92) of Economics Department of Social Science Faculty, Sadia Sinti Disha of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of Life Science Faculty (3.92). 95), Mahabub Alam (3.95) of Department of Food Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, Syeda Raihana Akhter (3.90) of Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management and Business Administration, Angana Kuri of Department of Forestry and Ecology, Faculty of Agriculture and Mineral Sciences. (3.83) and Mahesh Acharya (1288), a student of the Medical College affiliated to the University from the Faculty of Medicine.

According to the notification published on the website of UGC, every year the list of candidates for medals from various universities is scrutinized and published. The students who secure first place in various faculties of public and private universities of the country are nominated for the Prime Minister's Gold Medal.

This year, the UGC has published the list of students nominated for the 'Prime Minister's Gold Medal-2019' on its website and announced that if the university authorities have specific complaints or objections against the nominated students, they should inform the UGC by next Friday (May 5) along with proper evidence.
