Football tournament of Sociology department started in SUST
The football tournament titled 'Sociology Football Encounter-4' organized by the 28th batch of Social Science Department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) has started. Bipul Das Gupta, a student of the 28th batch, confirmed this on behalf of the organizing committee yesterday afternoon (May 31).
He said that a joyous rally started on the occasion of this tournament from in front of the academic building 'D' of the university last Tuesday at 1 pm. The rally starts in front of Academic Building 'E' and ends at the open stage. All the students of the department were also present in the rally along with the Head of Department of Sociology Professor Dr. Tanjeena Chowdhury and Professor Dr. Farooq Uddin. After the rally, Prof. Dr. Farooq Uddin inaugurated the trophy, jersey, ball of the tournament in Muktamanch.
Professor Dr. Farooq Uddin said in a short speech, 'I applaud your initiative. Hope the relationship between you seniors and juniors will improve through this game. I wish you success in the tournament. Besides, some work of the department like cultural night is left to be completed. If you need any help in this, I will help as much as possible.
The members of the organizing committee of the game said that in this tournament, 'Team Illustrator-26', 'Dictator', 'F.C. 4 teams namely 'Shooter-7' and 'FC Reckless' have participated. The tournament started on Tuesday (May 30) at the university handball ground at 4 pm with a match between Dictator and Reckless-26, which will be held on June 4, the final match of the tournament.
