Summer vacation in secondary schools cancelled
The government has cancelled the summer vacation for secondary level schools across the country due to the upcoming national election.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said this on Wednesday after a meeting with the non-government teachers’ leaders at International Mother Language Institute in the capital.
The vacation will be added to the winter vacation, scheduled to begin in December, she said.
The summer vacation was scheduled to begin on Thursday.
The minister also said nationalization of educational institutions is not possible before the upcoming national election.
The 12th national election is scheduled to be held in late December this year or early January next year.
