Celebrating Bangabandhu`s birth anniversary in SUST
The 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day were celebrated at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). On this occasion, on Friday (March 17) at 8:30 am in front of the administrative building-2 of the university, the celebration of the day began with the playing of the national anthem and the hoisting of the national flag and the university flag.
Later, Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed paid tribute by placing wreaths on the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Then at 9 in the morning a sports competition was organized with children at the handball ground in the university. Meanwhile, a seminar and discussion meeting was organized on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth anniversary and National Children's Day in the mini auditorium of the university at 10 am. While wishing Bangabandhu's birth anniversary and National Children's Day, Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed said that Bangladesh is moving forward at a fast pace with the hands of the Honorable Prime Minister. If measures were taken against corruption, we would have developed three times more than what we have achieved.
He said that our university is a public university and the government bears all the expenses of our university. We are 100 percent under the government. So we have to follow the guidelines of the government, there is no opportunity to think about anything outside the government. If we were, we could have our say.
Many people say that Bangabandhu's ideals are held in their hearts and wish that Bangabandhu's ideals are not implemented. If those who love Bangabandhu love Sheikh Hasina, then everyone should work unitedly with their ideals in mind. If you want to see Bangladesh as a developed and prosperous country in 2041, if you want to realize Bangabandhu's dream, then the country should be taken forward under the leadership of People's Leader Sheikh Hasina.
