DU ‘Ka’ unit exam : 91.83% attendance at SUST Center
Dhaka University (DU) Undergraduate Program 2022-23 Science unit admission test has been held. 91.83 percent of students participated in the examination of this unit at Shahjalal Science and Technology University Center in Sylhet from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Friday (May 12). Apart from that, the parents come with the students who want to get admission on this day. The campus became lively with their walk.
According to the admission committee sources, 3051 students applied from Sylhet department in science unit. But 2800 students participated in the exam. Which is about 91.83 percent of the total candidates. 251 students did not appear in the examination. The admission test for this unit is held simultaneously in 5 academic buildings and IICT buildings of the university.
It can be seen on the ground that the students and their parents who want to get admission started coming to the Shabi campus from this morning. Some come to the campus by their own car, some by rented car or by university transport. Many said that students come from Habiganj, Sunamganj and Moulvibazar districts of Sylhet division. The handball ground of the campus is full of small and big cars of different colors. University security guards are also seen having a busy time when students are arriving at the examination centre. Many students were seen engrossed in last-minute preparations.
The Proctoral Body of the University is seen to be active all the time. Tong shopkeepers got many customers on the occasion of the test. A smile appeared on their faces as they were sold well. Half an hour before the start of the exam, all students enter the exam hall. Meanwhile, the parents were ordered to move away from the venue. In this opportunity, many parents are walking to see the university campus; Some spent the exam time taking selfies and pictures on their mobile phones.
Apart from this, parents can be seen sitting in the tong shops, open spaces, roundabouts, passenger cantonments, inside and next to the library. After the examination at 12:30 pm, the students left the center. After that students along with their parents started leaving the campus one by one. During this time, the campus roads are very crowded. The campus before 1 pm is seen to be completely empty. There is no noise. This is how the buzzing campus turns into desolate silence.
Fatema Begum came with her father Abdur Rahman to take the exam of DU's science unit in the campus.
Fatema said that it was good to come to the green campus surrounded by hills and participate in the examination. No need to face any kind of problem.
Mrinal Kanti came from Moulvibazar with her son. He appreciated the bus service of Shahjalal University and the orderly environment of the campus. According to him, the exam was conducted very well.
Proctor Kamruzzaman Chowdhury of the university said that the examination was conducted in a fair and orderly manner. No adverse events occurred. The Proctoral Body was always vigilant about the security and order of the campus. Besides, no fraud was reported in the admission test.
Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Transport Administrator of the University said that bus service has been provided by Shahjalal University for DU admission candidates. Students and their parents are brought to the campus by bus from different points of Sylhet city from morning and after the examination they are taken to different places of the city.
Besides, this service was also available on the examination day of Arts, Law and Social Science Unit of DU. Besides, it is said that there will be transport facility from the university for the examination of business education unit tomorrow.
It is to be noted that tomorrow Saturday (May 13) from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, the admission test of DU's business education unit will be held at Shabi Kendra. It is said that 457 students of Sylhet division will participate.
