Fire broke out in SUST

A fire incident occurred at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in Sylhet. The fire took place in a room of the 'A' building of the university on Tuesday morning (May 17) around 2:15 am. Meanwhile, the security guards of the university broke the window and initially brought the fire under control with fire extinguishers.

It has been reported that a fire broke out in room No. 127 of the 'A' building of the university around 2:30 am. There was a research laboratory. Meanwhile, the security guards of the university brought the fire under control with fire extinguishers. Fire service and civil defense were also informed. On receiving the information, a team of fire service went to the spot and brought the fire under control.

It is said that the room's air conditioner (AC) and chair-table and many other important equipments have been damaged.

SUST's proctor Professor Dr. confirmed the truth of the fire incident. Md. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury. He said the amount of damage cannot be said at the moment. But the fire was inside the room.
