National environment festival held in SUST
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology organized the regional selection of the National Environment Festival under the initiative of Youth Entrepreneur Network.
The day-long festival was organized in the central auditorium of the university on Friday (June 9). The organizers said that the festival was completed in two phases. Competitive examination is held from morning to noon and prize distribution at 3:30 pm.
The regional phase held competitions in 6 categories – Olympiad, Environment Quiz, Problem Solving, Painting, Digital Poster and Environment Friendly Science Project.
400 students from 30 educational institutions of Sylhet region participated in it. Out of these 98 were selected and awarded. The organizers said that the winners at the regional level will participate in the national level environmental festival competition at Dhaka University next month.
Professor Dr. Romel Ahmed of Department of Forestry and Environmental Science was present as the chief guest in the award distribution of the festival held at SUST under the chairmanship of Assistant Professor Nurunnabi Azad Jewell, Adviser and Program Moderator of SUST Science Arena. Professor Dr. Zakir Hossain was the special guest.
Youthpreneur Network Operations Manager Mashfiqur Rahman Munna, SUST Science Arena President ZM Touhidul Islam Sijan and PRAN RFL Event Team Manager Akram Hossain were also present.
The title sponsor of the festival was Tel Plastics, the regional organizer was SUST Science Arena and the overall collaboration was with the National Museum of Science and Technology.
SUST's scientific organization SUST Science Arena was the overall organizer of the selection festival of Sylhet region and Green Exploratory Society was the club partner.
