Prof Dr. Kabir Hossain appointed as SUST Pro-Vice Chancellor
Professor Dr. Md. Kabir Hossain of Statistics Department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor.
On Monday (July 10), the appointment was announced through a notification signed by Deputy Secretary (Science and Technology University Branch) Rokhsana Begum, Department of Secondary and Higher Education, by order of the President.
According to the notification, Professor Kabir Hossain of the Department of Statistics of the University has been appointed to the post of Vice-Chancellor of the University as per Section 13 (1) of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Act, 1987 with the approval of His Excellency the President and the Acharya. He has been appointed in this position for four years.
Professor Dr. Md. Kabir Hossain is currently serving as the President of Shabiprabi Teachers Association and Medical Administrator of the University. Before this, he has served as president twice, vice president once, general secretary once and executive member ten times in the teachers' association.
Also Dr. Md. Kabir SUST Dean of Faculty of Physical Sciences and Faculty of Agriculture and Mineral Sciences, Head of Department of Statistics, Member of Bangladesh University Federation, Assistant Proctor, Director of SUST Research Center, Vice President of Bangabandhu Parishad, Member of Finance Committee, Syndicate Member, Chairman of Transport Advisory Committee , served in various important positions including member of the University Council nominated by the Academic Council.
