Blackmail to a teacher of a Leading University!
A teacher of a leading university was accused of being blackmailed by the police in Sylhet. A general diary was lodged at Katwali police station on Tuesday on the allegation of blackmailing a university teacher in the identity of DB police. Architect Rajan Das, Associate Professor, Department of Architecture, Leading University, made the general diary.
In the GD, he mentioned, on Tuesday around 12 o'clock, a number called me on my mobile and said, "Your child is in my custody". Then a baby's cry is heard over the phone.
Rajan Das immediately called his wife to confirm that the children were at home and mentioned it in GD, later I gave that phone number to a journalist friend of mine. When he called on the phone, the person on the other side identified himself as a businessman from Chittagong and hung up.
Rajan Das mentioned in the GD that he is worried about the safety of himself and his children after this incident.
Confirming the GD, Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ali Mahmud said the complaint is being investigated.
