Earlier, Chanchal had moved against the legal notice to stop the Mangal Sobhayatra last Tuesday (April 11). Expressing his conviction on social media, he wrote, 'Poyala Baisakh is not a festival of any particular religion. Festival of Bengali life. Festival of all religions, all people. On the first day of the Bengali year, everyone gathers together and prays for the well-being of the people of the country through the Mangal Shobhayatra. Participation here is at one's own discretion. But opposition is not desirable.

Note that on Friday (April 14) at 9 o'clock in the morning DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Under the leadership of Akhtaruzzaman, a procession took place from the Fine Arts Faculty. It ends by going back to the Faculty of Fine Arts at Shahbagh Mor. This year's slogan of Mars procession declared by UNESCO as 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity' is 'Catch the Rain-Majhe Shir Bari'.
