‘Maa’ to be screened in 76th Cannes Film Festival’s
Director Aranya Anwar-directed Pori Moni-starrer film titled Maa is going to be screened in the 76th Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film section. Aranya Anwar has said that he will fly to France on May 14.
‘Maa is my first silver screen directorial venture. I have dedicated the film to all mothers. I will fly to France on May 14 and the film’s producer Pulak Kanti Barua will visit the festival on May 18. Maa is scheduled to be screened at Marché du Film on May 18,’ Aranya Anwar told New Age.
‘The film will be released in cinemas in the country on May 19,’ said Aranya Anwar.
Marché du Film–Festival de Cannes—is the film industry hub in Cannes. It is held annually in conjunction with the Cannes Film Festival. Over 12,500 film industry professionals head to Cannes each year to present and discover almost 4,000 films and projects in development at 33 screening venues.
The shooting of Maa began in January in the past year. Pori Moni has played the lead character in the film, which is based on the War of Independence.
Azad Abul Kalam, Farzana Chhobi, Shazu Khadem, Robena Reza Jui, Shilpi Sarkar Apu, Setu, Labonno and Shahadat Hossain have played different roles in the film.
