Jaya Ahsan want to focus on Bangladeshi films now!
Renowned actress Jaya Ahsan is currently in Kolkata for the promotion of her film "Ardhangini", which will be released on June 2. In an interview with an Indian newspaper, the actress expressed her love for India, and how she appreciates the country so much.
Jaya Ahsan debuted in Tollywood with "Aborto" in 2013. Since then, the actress has been dominating film industries in both Bengals with her power packed performances. She has completed a decade in the Kolkata film industry.
However, when asked what her biggest achievement is, the actress replied, "I have found my second home here. My father was a freedom fighter, and I have heard so many stories about India. I never considered it as a separate country, my father always told me that India is our own country. Kolkata is really close to my heart. My father would have been really proud seeing his daughter receiving awards and being loved by fans in Kolkata," said the actress.
"Ardhangini" is directed by noted filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly. After "Bishorjon" and "Bijoya," this is the third time Jaya and Kaushik are working together. The film also features Kaushik Sen and Ambarish Bhattacharya.
"Kaushik da is a wonderful director and a sensible human being. His performance and direction is superb. Since both of us are sensitive, we really like working together," added the actress.
Jaya has worked more frequently in Kolkata films than in Dhaka.
"In Kolkata, I got a lot of good movie offers simultaneously, which really inspired me to give my best. I have worked in Bangladesh as well, but am seen more frequently here. However, I am thinking of focusing more on Bangladeshi films now," concluded the actress.
