Charlie the dog bags award for lead role in ‘777 Charlie’
Released last year, Kannada's film "777 Charlie" was an instant hit that propelled the industry to new heights. In a very curious and heartfelt development, the film has recently won two awards at the Chittara Star Awards.
Out of the two, one award was bagged by Charlie the Labrador. Charlie won the award for 'Best Performer', with a performance that stole the hearts of the audience.
The film's official social media pages shared the pup's photos, along with his cast members, where he is seen putting his paw on the award. People all over the internet congregated in the comment sections to express their adoration and awe at such a curious incident.
"777 Charlie" has been directed by Kiranraj K and stars Rakshit Shetty, Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty and more. The film had collected positive responses from the audience upon release and was also selected to be screened at the 13th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, where Kiranraj won the prize for 'Best Director' as well.
The story of the film revolves around Dharma (Rakshit Shetty), who is at a crossroads in his life. He is unable to move forward, until a pup comes into his life, changing it forever.
